Why are we called Kokia House?
History of the building
This 19th century mansion was purchased by Benjamin and Rosa Kokia. Benjamin Kokia was a member of a well-known family of Georgian roots. Rosa Kokia was the grandchild of the Sephardi Chief Rabbi of the Land of Israel – Nissin Sahul Eliashar.
The top floor hosted the clinic of the famous eye specialist, Dr. Ticho, whose hospital was in the Ticho House behind this building. Benjamin and Rosa Kokia lived here until their death in 1950s.

About us
The Kokia House Visitors Center is located in the center of Jerusalem. In a historical building where one of the famous Jewish families of Jerusalem use to live. The Visitors Center took the name of the family to preserve the history of the building.
The Visitors Center was established in 2015 It is operating as a non-profit organization through a group of lovers of this land.
The Kokia House Visitors Center showcases the riches of the land as a common spiritual heritage to God’s people.
The Bible describes the land of Israel as exceedingly good (Numbers 14:7).
During your visit, you will see:
1. A short Film showing the most beautiful pictures of the land in a garden-like atmosphere,
2. An Archaeological Exhibition “The Seven Sacred Species in the land of Israel” from the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA),
3. And an Audio-Visual Presentation about the journey to the promised land.
Our hope is that all visitors of Kokia House will gain a deeper appreciation of the beauty and uniqueness of this land.
